The wonderful Diego Carrasco Schoch teaches an exploratory Workshop for finding proper neuro-muscular activation for efficiency in ballet and other dance forms/movement.
Open to dancers 13 and up (intermediate/advanced teen students) and adults of all ages and abilities.

Dr. Diego Carrasco Schoch, Physical Therapist, Doctor of Physical Therapy
Dr. Diego is a licensed physical therapist, certified Pilates instructor, and dance professional. He completed his Doctor of Physical Therapy degree at the University of St. Augustine for Health Sciences, and an MFA in Dance/Choreography at the University of Iowa.
Dr. Diego has performed in a diverse and varied repertoire, including soloist and principal roles in classic and neoclassic repertoire by Petipa, Coralli/Perrot, Bournonville, George Balanchine, Antony Tudor, Eugene Loring, Bruce Wells, Michael Smuin, Jimmy Gamonet de los Heros, Jean-Paul Comelin, Vicente Nebrada, Mauricio Wainrot, Norbert Vesak, Alonzo King, Rick McCullough, and Choo San Goh. In addition to Dr. Diego’s conservatory training in classical ballet, he also received significant training in the primary modern dance techniques of Graham, Cunningham, Humphrey/Weidman’s Fall and Recover, and Louis/Nikolai. This background allowed him opportunities to interpret and originate roles in contemporary and modern works by José Limón, Elisa Monte, Louis Falco, Salvatore Aiello, Kathryn Posin, Ed Burgess, Charles Moulton, and others. Other notable performing experiences include dancing in Tokyo, Japan in the 1st Annual International Choreography Competition as a member of a quartet working for choreographer Rick McCullough in 1990 where they took 2nd Place, dancing as a member of the Chautauqua Summer Dance Company under Jean-Pierre Bonnefous, and twice participating as a dancer at the Carlisle Project.
Dr. Diego has choreographed for North Carolina Dance Theater, Milwaukee Ballet, Milwaukee Ballet School, University of Wisconsin at Milwaukee, University of Louisiana at Lafayette, University of North Carolina School of the Arts, North Carolina Dance Festival, Wake Forest University, and produced, directed, and choreographed his own evening of dance as an independent artist in Durham, NC. Dr. Diego has taught ballet, modern technique, partnering, dance composition, dance improvisation, and dance history, and has held teaching positions at the University of Louisiana at Lafayette as an Assistant Professor of Dance, the University of North Carolina School of the Arts as a member of the Contemporary Dance Faculty, the University of North Carolina at Greensboro as an Adjunct Instructor, Milwaukee Ballet School, Raleigh School of Ballet, and American Dance Festival’s year-round studios.
As a physical therapist, Dr. Diego combines his experiences as a mover, artist, and instructor with sound kinesiological approaches, manual therapy, and evidence-based practices into a cohesive therapeutic approach emphasizing breath, concentration, control, precision, coordination, flow, confidence, alignment, balanced development, and strength. Dr. Diego continues to have a physical practice that includes dancing, surfing, climbing, hiking, backpacking, and Pilates.
