Join us for a very special set of Technique and Repertory Master Classes with Miss Tara Brigitte Bhavnani, First Artist with the Royal Ballet!!


SATURDAY MAY 27TH

Juniors 9:30 - 11:30am Technique and Repertory

Appropriate for 8 - 12 years of age with at least 3 years of ballet training or Level 2 - 3

Following a one hour ballet class for classical technique and musicality, learn an excerpt from the Royal Ballet's Nutcracker: the delightful Snow Waltz!  Focus will be on the accuracy of port de bras and fast footwork to create a beautiful flurry of Snowflakes!


SATURDAY MAY 27TH

Seniors 12:00 - 2:30pm Technique and Repertory

Appropriate for students 13 - 18 years of age with at least 4 years of ballet training / Levels 3 - 5

Starting with a ballet class emphasizing the importance of pure classical technique, we will then translate this into learning adapted choreography from the Royal Ballet's Swan Lake.  Transform yourself into a beautiful swan as we learn some of the group formations and precise swan qualities that make this ballet so timeless.


SUNDAY MAY 28TH

Adults 9:30 - 12:00pm Technique and Repertory

Appropriate for Beginning/Intermediate - Advanced/Professional

Learn an adapted dance from one of the most famous corps de ballet dances! This masterclass will start with a classical ballet class full of tips to help get the most out of your technique. Next we will do a quick study of the ethereal swan arms, followed by learning an adapted version of the Royal Ballet's Swan Waltz. For the last 10 minutes there will be a Q&A with a light cool down stretch.

About Miss Tara

A professional ballet dancer of Canadian-Indian heritage, Tara-Brigitte Bhavnani has been a First Artist with the Royal Ballet for 20 years. She has performed both at their historic home in Covent Garden, UK and in many of the most famous theatres around the World in over 2500 performances. Tara has danced a variety of roles in the corps de ballet and as a soloist/principal, as well as a number of principal character roles.  From the 2023/24 season she will become a Guest Character Artist with the Royal Ballet, performing selected roles in certain productions.  Alongside her career Tara gained the prestigious Professional Dancer's Teaching Diploma with the Royal Ballet School, graduating with Distinction. She will now spend more time guest teaching and coaching students 1:1, sharing her wealth of knowledge and passion for the art form.
